Newsletter Spring 2

Dear Parents and Carers

We have now come to the end of the first half of the Spring Term. It has been a short half term but the children worked very hard in their classes, achieved a great deal and enjoyed what they have been learning.

ALL THE STAFF WISH YOU A VERY PLEASANT AND RESTFUL HALF TERM.

Many Congratulations!

To all the children in Reception A and in Year 6 for their lovely assemblies. Year 6 celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. They showed us that, through our Lord, our talents and goodness can shine out.

Reception A celebrated Chinese New Year. This was a super array of colour and performance.

Once again, thank you to all the parents who could come to the assemblies as we realise it can be difficult for others to take time off from work.

Thank you to Ms Caneda, Mrs Arterton and all the support staff.

WROTHAM

The children of Year 5 have been having a fantastic time in Wrotham since they arrived on Wednesday.

Mrs Pearson has reported back to me twice a day on how things have been. The children have been very well behaved and have gained so much from the experience of being part of a team; challenging themselves with the ‘high adventure’ activities.

I am sure they will return exhausted but delighted with themselves.

I would like to thank all the staff who accompanied the children on their trip this week.

SCHOOL RETURNS 22nd February, 2016

Please take time to read with your child over half term.

Lent

Lent is the time when we prepare for Easter, the greatest of the Christian festivals. It is traditionally a time when we try to be closer to Jesus by remembering his fast and his sacrifice.

The children in Key Stage 2 went to Mass on Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, to receive ashes. The children in Reception and Year 1 have been thinking about Lent and writing their Lenten promises - to think less of themselves and more about others, like Jesus did.

E Safety Day 9th February, 2016

All the children learnt about the need for E safety in school with thanks to Ms Lazarus and Mrs Watson.

The children were also informed about our school’s “Shine On-Line” campaign set up for the School Blog. This encourages everyone to stay positive when commenting and using the blog as well as the internet.

PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD TO “SHINE ON-LINE” AND ON THEIR PHONES ALSO.
