- The table below identifies educational apps that can be used to further develop the maths skills required for KS1.
- These are not funded by the school. You may purchase these if you would like to but you are under no obligation to do so.
- KS1 pupils have access to all of these apps on our school iPads.

· This is a great fun app that allows pupils to share out fractions of cakes · Go to option 1. A Piece Of Cake · Select Level 1

IDENTIFYING 2D SHAPES |
· Go to ‘Let’s Practise!’ section in the main menu · Select ‘Shape’ · Choose a practice quiz from the 3 options (naming shapes, identifying numbers of sides/corners)

FEATURES OF 3D SHAPES |
· Your child can explore the 3D shapes and use the on screen tools to identify the faces/vertices/edges

READING NUMBER LINES |

· Select the number line from the main menu · Your child has to place a given number on a number line before the bubble pops |
SETTING/READING TIME ON A CLOCK |
· Choose the ‘Set The Clock’ option
· Choose the ‘Set The Time’ option. *Both apps have different levels of difficulty to allow for progression |

READING SCALES/MEASUREMENT |
· Go to ‘Let’s Practise!’ section in the main menu · Select ‘Measure’ · There are a selection of activities in this section on reading scales – weight & volume |

REPEATING PATTERNS |
· This is a great app that allows your child to play with shapes and explore their properties · Ask your child to use the shapes to create a repeating pattern

READING NUMBERS IN DIGITS/WORDS |
· Select ‘Ordering’ or ‘Reading’ numbers from the main menu · Select the 3 and 4 digit numbers from the given options (can be adjusted as your child progresses) |

· Go to ‘Let’s Practise!’ section in the main menu · Select ‘Number Value’ · Scroll down to section on Tallies |

WORD BASED REASONING PROBLEMS |
· Click the icon that looks like a set of die · Choose the beginner option from the main menu · Select an operation for the questions (click on addition, subtraction, division or multiplication) · Pupils work through word based problems by clicking & dragging the numbers from the word-based question to the box at the bottom of the screen to create a sum. · If pupils cannot crate the sum independently then tell them to click on the coloured buttons at the bottom the screen. The relevant words/numbers needed to solve the problem will then ‘shake’ to give them a clue. · Once the pupil has created the sum from the words then click on ‘Work Out The Answer’. On this screen they can use the tools to draw/write/record how to solve the problem. |

VISUAL REPRESENTATIONS OF ADDITION & SUBTRACTION |
· This is a great app that allows your child to explore pictorial representations of addition and subtraction. · Choose one of the 5 visual representations from the menu · Tap in the numbers into the boxes at the top of the screen · Tap ‘Show’ or ‘Next Step’ to see a visual representation of that sum |
