St Thomas a Becket take wellbeing very seriously. It is at the heart of everything we do. This has become even more important since the pandemic began and we have endeavoured to achieve more. With this in mind, we are as a whole school community, working towards our wellbeing award.
To ensure all members of our school community had the chance to have their say, questionnaires were offered to all parents, children and staff. These have been analysed and changes are being made already. We already had some programmes to promote wellbeing running in our school. However, through careful consideration and taking into account all of the feedback we received, we have decided it would be beneficial for us to join some more programmes to help us to achieve our goals.
Some of these programmes can be viewed using the links below.

We have decided to look at the accredited recommendations from the National Children's Bureau who suggest using the Schools' Wellbeing Partnership. They in turn suggested using The Wellbeing Award for Schools, which we are currently running school wide. They also suggest making use of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, who we have worked with before, some of you may remember our 'silly socks days'. This has enabled us to analyse the effect and extent of bullying within our school. The results of which were very pleasing. We are a happy and caring school. We wanted to ensure, however, that this reaches every single child at all times! To enable us to do this, we have decided to enlist some of our wonderful pupils to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. They have received basic training for this, along with continued support from trained staff members, and will continue to do so.
